This is a terrific fight! Frazier would pressure Louis and bob and weave and try to land that big left hook. Louis was a good puncher with power in both hands and he certainly could catch Frazier coming in. I can't see this fight going 15 rds because both guys would be landing some good power shots and since neither fighter was a defensive wizard, it would probably come down to who could take the other's bombs better. Louis had fast hands and i think his two-handed power would prevail in this fight. Louis knocks out Frazier in 10 of the most thrilling rounds you would ever witness in heavyweight history.

In their prime this would be a tough contest. If you're talking about the Louis that was primed and ready for the second Schmeling fight, and the Smokin' Joe that was ready for the first Ali fight. This fight would go the distance with Louis landing the cleaner punches and gutting out a split decision. The scorecards show Frazier winning by 3 points on one, and Louis by 1 point each on the other two. Rematch anyone?

Somebody said Louis was a small fighter? Joe was about 6'1 1/2" or 2 inches taller than Frazier and weighed usually in the neighborhood of 200-203 lbs in his prime or about 2 lbs less than Frazier. He also had the reach on Joe and had power in two hands not just one as Joe Frazier did. I believe Frazier could endure more punishment than Louis but could he endure what Louis dished out? Louis is the better all round fighter and a much better boxer. Frazier was relentless and aggressive willing to take two or three shots to land one of his vaulted left hooks. Now the Frazier that gave Ali his first career loss was a determined fighter proving to the world that he was a force to be reckoned with and one of my all time favorite fighters but Louis is simply a greater fighter. That does not mean it would be an easy night for Louis but he had more problems against slick boxers than power hitters. This is how I see the fight breaking down. Frazier wades into Louis who stands there with him giving as much as he takes. Frazier rattles Louis with some hooks but Louis counters with vicious right hand counters and hooks of his own stopping Frazier in his tracks. Louis is also implementing his jab and causing Frazier's face to swell as we go into round 10 of a fairly even fight. Louis has some definite marks too and bruises from Frazier hooks. In round 12 Louis is really finding the mark with short crisp punches shaking Frazier up. Frazier keeps firing those hooks but most are now missing because his eyes are closing. With about a minute to go in round 12 Louis lands a combination and Frazier goes down and hard. He struggles to get to his feet before the 10 count as the man certainly had a ton of courage but the referee has seen enough and stops the action with Louis the winner by 12th round TKO. Louis tells Frazier after the fight that he's the toughest man he ever fought! I can tell you one thing, this would have been a fight with a ton of action and drama leaving boxing fans breathless!

Sorry Joe Lewis Joe Frazier by knock out inside of 6 rounds Frazier would smother Lewis with body shots until Lewis droped his hands then a screaming left hook would turn Lewis inside out Lewis had never seen any one with the style of Frazier bobbing and weaving with Lewis straight up style and stiff legs and backing up in a straight line a bad night for Lewis

Joe Louis
No contest.
We're talking about the Joe Louis
of the 30's when his legs were
strong, not the Joe Louis of the
40's that most people remember.
