i want to keep it simple and reserved. my boyfriend and me doesnt have too much money but it doesn't mean we have to choose for a cheap-look wedding. i want to make it in a resort cuz i love the beach and as i live in the dominican, beaches here are pretty cute. That could means that it will be during the day cuz at night im gonna have a big suprised for my future husband (ie. A very Special Dinner).... so what kind of dress would i have to wear? what kind of decoration, food, apperitizers should i have to prepare??? I was thinking of - as soon i know about designing - to prepare the flowers bucket and invitations myself. can you help me? Im getting married within 6 months, So i guess i dont have too much time.

G.G....you can get GREAT dresses on line, the only problem with that is then you have to have it fitted if need me, but they are much less $ than the shops.
If you have it at a resort it is going to be alot of money, can you do it any other way?....
I just got married in November, kept it real simple and not to sound like a snob, it was as classy as could be. I think now a days the more simple, the classier. We had it in our home, my daughter was maid of honor, wore a great dress I had already, my son gave me away (again LOL)..we served some great home made food after, it was the best. The only two areas I spent some $ on was the photographer, and the flowers...can you get lillies down there????? they are the best...
Keep it simple, remember what the day is all about and don't get lost in all the hype....congratulations and above all, enjoy the day.

P.S....can you send some more great baseball players to the red sox??????.....We need them...

well if it's on the beach, don't have a big train. not having a big train will cut out a lot of expenses with the dress. if you make it informal then you could get away with wearing a shorter dress instead of a huge gown. If you have some sort of traditional food on the beach like a cookout or something that would cut expenses. or see if the resort you are at has a deal with the food or something. a friend of mine had a tea instead of a recpetion. and all that was there was like drinks and baking stuff. it was simple, but nice. go with flowers that are in season. good luck and congrats:)

Felicidades! If you do it at a resort in DR, I know that if you reserve a certain amount of rooms they will perform the wedding gratis! Which is great for you! You may be able to print invitations out online and save a LOAD of dinero by doing this as opposed to buying expensive invites. If you will marry on the beach (or anywhere in DR), do not get a heavy dress as you know it's hot as heck there!
I am also planning on getting married at a resort in DR. Email me so we can chat if you want!
Was thinking of either Punta Cana or Puerto Plata!

CONGRATULATIONS, girl!

Buy the stone separately from the jewelry district and then pick out a simple setting. Buying together means there could be flaws hidden. If you buy separately, this will save a lot of money! Try Costco too!

Congratulations first of all, now since its going to be during the day..,.,your dress can be like halter top and ivory,,its sexy and tropical at the same time also it could be kind of mini style....or knee length...for apperitizers you could go with fruits,,,something light,,,and for food you can do "mangu" ,"mofongo" or "arañitas". with chicken breasts in teriyaki sauce..for decorations I would use tropical flowers,,and palm trees,,Check out this bargain stores which happen to have lovely bases in "barro" for decorating....and try to buy everything in one place....

You can get married on the beach, those are typically cheap, and check ebay for dresses. I bought my dress off of ebay for $250.
