Because God still chooses to bless them.

"Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?" - 1 Corinthians 1:20
Sometimes, people aren't as smart as they think they are. They fool themselves, thinking that their word is the law, and that everybody else is preaching 'foolishness'. But God uses these 'foolish' things to shame those who think they are wise.
There are different types of intelligence: Intellectual and Spiritual. A fool in God's eye is one who fools himself by saying that there is no God. A fool in God's eye will use earthly proof to support what he is saying.
God loves everybody, especially atheists. No matter what they say, or how skeptical they are, God will show us what is true. As a Christian, my job is to show Jesus' love to everybody, not just Christians.

Oh that's too easy...there are geniuses who believe many diferen't things and disagree about many things all obviously can't be right. Le't consider those who believe in the big bang, Which one of these Geniusis' knows what caused the big bang? Man's intellegence is limited even the best and brightest do not agee on many things and our knowledge of God is also limited many of our greatest minds have belived in god others do not. Let's consider what some men inspired by God thousands of years ago had to say... There is a way that seems right to a man and this way ends in death. Our righteousness are as filthty rags to God. 1 Cor.2:11-16 11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

Atheists don't believe God and many of them are geniuses because they believe only of themselves. They write their own doctrine and laws. It's thesame the Pharises they teach the law but they do not follow what they teach.
Fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.

Only a fool says, "Only a fool says there is no god". Atheists have to be more intelligent to see past the colossal pile of drek they have been spoon-fed since childhood by superstitiously delusional religionists.

Because so many atheists proclaim themselves geniuses. I'm guessing they do this because they think there is no God to humble them.

Remember that the bible says -- in many places -- that non-believers must be killed. Not should -- must.
For those who take the bible seriously, it's easier to wish destruction upon their supposed enemies if they can think of those enemies as less-than-human -- and that verse gives them permission to do just that.

This isn't pascal's wager, some of us have enough command of logic to work out what we believe for ourselves.
The problem is that the more intelligent you are the less likely you are to go for blind faith. You want to see proof in front of you, you want to know you're following the right thing, and since there is no proof for religion, typically only smart people who were indoctrinated as a child buy into religion.
