The average pregnancy for dogs is 63 days. Is she close to that? Do you know? If so, then yes, she could be starting labor. It's her 2nd litter, did she act this way before the 1st litter was born?

Do the dog a favor - Have her spayed after she has this litter.

The fact that she's panting a lot, moving around more than usual and seems to want to go out, but won't stay out long would suggest that she's in labor. Has she "nested" anywhere yet (pulled clothing, anything soft together to form a bed)?

Animals usually become lethargic because of the burden on their overtaxed bodies. Perhaps keeping comfortable, soft cushioning in various spots that are in a somewhat private place for her will help her to settle in. There she will get peace of mind not worrying about anyone touching her babies. If this becomes really worrisome to you, I'd advise to have her checked by your vet.

Call your vet and make sure even though I can't understand how you don't know since this is her second litter, do you not remember how she acted last time?

one of the signs your dog is in labor is puppies coming out of her vagina. She'll be ok, so will you. Get ready for puppies!!!
