Yes it does cause you to burn more calories. When you take in something that cold, it cools your body down and you will use some calories when your body warms it to a more reasonable temperature.

However, it's not a significant amount. You won't lose 40 pounds just by drinking ice water instead of tap water. But if you add the few calories you burn by drinking ice water to the calories you burn by taking the stairs, by parking at the far end of the parking lot, by exercising regularly, etc., it will all add up.

It does, but it has to be ice cold and you have to drink alot of it, but the calorie burning increase is negligble. Its because your body has to warm it up. But it also irritates your stomach and can cause cramping.

yes, because it will take longer for your body to digest. the cold water must first be warmed then digested. any bodily function burns calories.

It's true because it works your metabolism as it warms it up. Your metabolism doesnt have to work that hard on room temp water since it's already close to your body temp.
