We pollute worship of God with traditions and rituals because of ignorance.
You are right, by substituting the reason by traditions and even superstitions we have made worshiping God a chore rather than a relationship. That is ignorance.
God is your rational service. Once that you really get to know God, you realize that he is only asking you to act everyday as he acts with you. It is, with truth, love, justice and kindness.
That simple my friend. No traditions, no superstitions.

I would agree with you. I do not have a religion. I have a relationship with God. Many other people just do religion because it seems the right thing to do and therefore they do it more out of a chore to get done rather than taking the time and the opportunity to enhance their relationship to God. The condition is that they are a child of God through the blood of Jesus Christ.

The God I believe in has no need or desire to be worshiped in the first place. A relationship with God does not require worship.
Religion and spirituality are two completely different things, and organized religion, especially the major ones, are always very spiritual at all. They only think they are.

It's hard to have a relationship with an entity that hides out in the clouds. So we fill the void with man-made rituals. And it IS a chore.

Sure the Bible was written by man. The New Testament were just eyewitness accounts of what happened in that day. These are testamony affidavits that would hold up in court of what they seen and heard. A man was born told no man what his name was or who he was. People called him Jesus. He was crucified on a cross for no other reason than speaking his mind. What is amazing to me is that this Bible disturbs you so much. Just remember that one day you will die and you had better hope that the Bible is the fairytale that you claim. Because if it is real you are in deep trouble. Fairytales are usually written by one person. When you have a half dozen men telling the same story and you want proof. Those half dozen men just gave you proof.

That is a good question. It makes you wonder who really is behind all the religions of the world today. All they seem to worry about is making money and protecting child molesters. The worship of God is not burdensome (1John 5:3-4) but joyous. I have found that a study of accurate Bible knowledge clears up much of the nonsense added to religion by men.

It is a remnant of a bygone age-as I said in an earlier post it's a disgrace that some of the anachronistic dogma of Christianity even exists in the 21st century, and I got a violation for making that statement so maybe you're not allowed to even criticise Christian dogma on here.

Some people have to have traditions and rituals to feel closer to God. Also, the traditions and rituals are meant to separate the spiritual world from the temporal world.

Because god itself was created by man, why would you not expect the supportive rituals??

There is nothing new to this. Jesus told the pharacies they were more concerned with the traditions of man than they where with what God wanted them to do. Read your Bible and pray. The Psalms are filled with all kinds of prayers. Read them aloud to make them your prayers and God will bless you.
