While no official numbers have been compiled, it's estimated at 12 U.S. civilians per day.

That's 4,380 murders per year. Since 9/11, 21,900 U.S. civilians have died because of illegal immigrants.

Let's compare 21,900 to the 2,863 U.S. troops killed in Iraq and 289 total killed in the 5 year Afghanistan campaign.

You do the math.

I'm from Kentucky. Not long ago, a beloved teacher, mother and wife was killed on her daily commute to work. The person who hit her head on was an illegal who had two previous DUI's and another wreck to his credit. He had been deported twice before this tragedy. We stole this country from it's rightful owners. I'm not proud of that. What I am proud of is my Native Heritage. I'll be damned if I'll allow insult to injury. For better or worse, through ill gotten gain, it is still ours. By that I mean everyone who was born here, and those who were brought here years ago against their will. It's ours, such as it is. If you want to come to this wonderful country, do it the right way. I propose if you are here illegally, and kill one of our own, you face the same sentence as you would in your country. Stop bringing your trash to our doors.

Since these deaths are preventable if existing laws are enforced, a number of the answers above are disingenuous.

Also, regarding deaths caused by legal immigrants, it may interest some to know that legal immigrants have a lower incidence of crime in this country than does the general population - possibly because they had to go through a screening process before they were allowed to become legal.

On the other hand, about 4% of the population here (illegals) make up about 30% of the prison population country wide, according to government estimates I have seen.

As to deaths, I believe the 3,000 plus number per year I have seen repeated by numerous main stream sources - including at least one Congressman's web page.

That is more than have died in Iraq since the start of the war.

And unlike other deaths people are going on about, which do also occur, these are entirely preventable.

Over 9,000 deaths on average done by illegals (yes we have our murderers too) .Four rapes or child molestation on average daily yes we have that too). But perhaps these could be prevented. Even just some.
Hurt yes it does--it hurts those here illegally who cause no harm and those here who are victims.
We need law and order for protection of all here. If there is a way to protect even" just one"--that should be our aim.
Until we come up with a better plan--I believe we should not support those who are here illegally in any way. We need to look at things closely before we open a door that might harm others . Even if it is not what we want to because someone we like can't stay here. To any illegal reading this, I am sorry if you have done no harm to anyone but I trust you have the sense enough to understand the choices we face.

To the people who answered the question with another question, don't try to distract us from the fact that illegal immigrants kill Americans. Yes, Americans kill people too, but that isn't what he asked.

How many Americans kill Americans? Take a look at history. Our forefathers were illegal imagrants in this country. What did they do? They took over! Now we call it our country. Now we are building a wall at the border of Mexico. Funny, we wanted the wall torn down in Berlin and the Great wall of China. I think we've turned into a bunch of hypocrics.

i find it ironic that the same people who push so hard for tax cuts that the federal government can't afford are so strongly in favor of implementing "solutions" to curb immigration that would cost every american thousands of dollars.

As compared to how many people are killed by Legal immigrants?

How about asking how many illegals Never commit a crime? I realize that is an oxymoron except that the vast majority of 'illegals' came here on a Visa that has now expired; most of them are Not boarder jumpers.
And the vast majority of Latin American 'illegals' that are here do not commit any crime at all. No murder, drug dealing, identity theft from our family or friends - sorry to disappoint you.

Are you proposing that if we had shipped out all the 'illegals' there would be no more murder in the US?

Probably not very many. However, when you factor in that most of the gang violence in America is Hispanic and African American gangs, then you can see a trend of illegal immigrants coming to America, and then their children becoming the cause of much of the drug and gang problem here in Southern California.

i don't know. last week i read a report and it was up there in the numbers. to high for comfort. i think they are trying to wipe out the Americans so they can take over America. that's the only way they are going to steal are country from us.
