I think it's all just a myth, really. After all, why did God give Adam a woman? Many have said that the "forbidden fruit" was sex, but if God didn't intend for them to eventually have sex, why did he give Adam a penis and Eve a vagina? It doesn't make sense, does it? Personally, I believe that Darwin was right and that we are the way we are because we evolved that way. Don't get me wrong, though. I DO believe in God, but I think that the story of Adam and Eve is just a myth that's intended to explain the existence of humanity and that the story of the Fall is meant to account for the existence of the world's ills. It's not much different than the story of Pandora's box in Greek mythology.

God created woman as a help mate for man. Adam saw that there were already male and female animals. Adam I suppose was one of those men who dreamed about a woman to love and who would feel right in his arms. It takes both male and female to reproduce. It is really a low blow to compare a woman to a TV or a football. Not only is it an insult to women it is an insult to men. Adam was a man full grown with desires and feelings that made him feel lonely. God came down and walked with him each day. Even animals show each other affection. Adam had a certain desire for Eve even before she was created. Maybe he even dreamed about her. God knows everything and God knew Adam's need and even the future. Why does everyone gets so turned on questioning God's works and his plans? You could also ask why he created man and the flood came about because he did consider destroying mankind completely.

Gen 2:18 ¶ And the LORD God said, [It is] not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
Gen 2:20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
Gen 2:21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
Gen 2:22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
Gen 2:23 And Adam said, This [is] now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
Gen 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

there was no work, he didn't have anything to do so he was lonely or bored.a tv wouldn't satisfy him becasue who would run the shows and suff like that if he was the only human on earth? playing football by yourself is not very interesting either, at least not for long. He didn't give him another man bacause God wanted the world to be filled with people, therefor he needed a women.

Because Adam had tried coupling with all of the beasts of the field in turn and then turned to God and cried out "why does every creature have a suitable mate but i?"

God knew that man could not complete all of his tasks alone. Therefore he made a helper for him. This helper, a woman, completes the man and helps him in his tasks on this earth. Man cannot do everything. That is why he needs a woman to help him to the things he cannot do.

you miss the point, and the whole lesson. first there is a difference between being lonely and being alone.
but G-D is using Adam to explain TheOUR IMAGE of G-D HOO VHEE (HE AND SHE). since Adam in the first comming is both adam and chaooah as unoticed, in ONE Unique Body. and in the second comming G-D Resurrects Him, to reveal the two wittnesses of this fact as both adam and chaooah(her name is not realy eve in TheTorah). where G-D puts Adam to death on the tree of life for adam and chaooah to be resurrected.
adam and chaooah are not the first people on earth in TheTorah. since Noach(and not noah) His Family and the 144,000 animals are the first people on earth in always day one in TheTorah. shalomcha vshalomech???,?...

Well the first time around he created adam and eve at the same time. The second time around he created adam first, adam did a bunch of stuf and then he created eve.
Maybe he wanted adam to regret asking for a friend in the first place. lol (joke at my own expense)

GOD DIDN'T GIVE ADAM A WOMAN BECAUSE HE WAS LONELY. ADAM WAS RESPONCIBLE FOR NAMING ALL THE ANIMALS IN THE GARDEN. ADAM SAW THAT THEY HAD MATES AND OFFSPRING. HOW COULD ADAM HAVE BEEN LONELY? GOD SAW THAT IT WAS NOT GOOD FOR THE MAN TO BE BY HIMSELF SO HE MADE A HELPER FOR HIM, AS A COMPLEMENT TO HIM.
