Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakaatuh (meaning, peace and blessings of God be upon you (all) :D!)
Well, well, well! By "young people", I sure do hope you mean "married" young couples, right? That being said, simply remember Allah as often as you can, especially during Ramadan. Read the Quran for guidance and for understanding to help you get your mind off being intimate with your spouse. Be active in your community during Ramadan especially but during other times as well so your mind will be off such things. By being active in community, I simply mean things like, visit the Senior Center (if they exist in your area), intending to make Allah happy by entertaining the seniors in the best (halaal) manner possible; I also mean for you (and others) to spend time with kids, playing with them, teaching them good things, and so on; feed the hungry, the poor, the homeless, those at the shelter (poor people are all over no matter where you live!).
That'll keep you way too busy during the day so you won't be able to think of anything else.
Oh, one other thing that can help you control is taking your wife on a nice outing (where there are people around during the day in Ramadan so you don't feel anything "intimate" if you feel something "romantic" due to her that may make you wanna be intimate with her, I mean), but always do keep in mind NOT to do it excessively and whenever you do take her on an outing, do so in the name of God, intending to make yourself, your wife, and Allah happy. As long as you remember Allah in all that you do, you'll be in peace and happiness.... and in control of ALL your actions.
Peace!
Hope my answer helps, inshaAllah.

Children are taught by their parents that sex is haraam until marriage meaning it's forbidden. That's pretty much it. Oh and I don't believe that they don't teach a stupid subject like sex ed in schools since the boys and girls know that it's a sin to even think about sex. And the schools are separated by sexes. Girls school and boys school. Also the buses are segregated by sex as well. Once the girl turns 7 she is separated from her brother and other male cousins and male relatives.

It should be easy, as the month of Ramadan is the only month God asks of all of us to refrain from pleasure.. you can still have sex or a sexual relationship after eftar, but not during the hours of fast.!

well I am married to a Muslim man who celebrates Ramadan and although sexual relations may be permitted under certain restrictions (during dark when not fasting, if you are married)... it was still a significant change of pace for us... but also kind of refreshing because you learn to slow down and be patient and REALLY appreciate all of the pleasures of life (sex, food, dancing, singing, etc... many of which are also abstained from while fasting)

Only during the daytime and fasting helps to control your desires.
You are free to enjoy your spouse before dawn and after sunset. Its good training to be able to control your desires in or moden society obsessed with sex. It is our modern society that is not normal where the "meat market" seems normal.
Perhaps you should ask your question again to catholic priests that have to be celibate all year round. This is also not "normal".

actually, if you are not married, then you actually are not allowed to have sex. you are supposed to stay a virgin untill marriage.
so probably, if you are young, you are probably not married.
but to answer your question, if they focus hard enough, they can resist and control their "hormonal urges" =)
