I don't know exactly why this happens cause I'm not a hair dresser but it does happen to some hairs where the hair won't take the perm. I've had a perm years back and there was some hair that remained straight near the bottom and top that just wouldn't take the perm. It might have something to do with the elasticity of the hair.

when you get a perm dont wash it you have to leave that in your hair w/o washing for a lil while if you wash your hair right after it will was out the perm

Dang! You can probably do a much better job on your own, I wouldn't go back to that salon N E more!!!!!
