This isn't the answer you're looking for, but some people's bodies are intolerant to alcohol and no matter what you do, nothing will change it. In a way, you should be grateful, because you aren't going to get so plastered that you'll end up doing something you could regret for the rest of your life. (I've seen this happen to a number of people). Don't fall into the trap of thinking you can only have a good night out by over-indulging; go out with the intention of enjoying yourself and you will, even with only 4 or 5 drinks. Don't try to keep up with your mates, just slow down and make each drink last that bit longer. Happy New Year.

Eat a good meal before you go out. Drinking on an empty stomach is always a bad plan!
Take it easy when drinking, you're far more likely to feel sick if you drink it all too fast, so pace yourself.
Drink water as well. For every couple of drinks you have, drink a glass of water too. It will dilute the alcohol in your stomach. Alcohol is essentially a poison, so vomiting is just your body's way of getting rid of it, hence why you feel sick.
Last thing - remember getting drunk isn't everything, it's often far more fun to have a few drinks but remain more sober than all your friends - especially if you're armed with a camera!!!

I'm wondering what it is that you are drinking? If it's spirit & mixer then have a glass of water between drinks (I used to do this and you can get away with it in company by passing it off as spirit and lemonade).
If you drink lager/bier etc then it may be that it has too much gas, try switching to heavy or 70 shilling (both less likely to cause a hangover too)
Also, alchopops contain a lot of artificial sweeteners which can cause sickness and headache so avoid these.
If all this fails, then really it's up to you to know your limit and stop drinking before you get to the stage of feeling ill.
And as others have said - never drink without having a meal first :-)

First of all, 5 drinks is a decent amount of alcohol. A "few" drinks would be more along the lines of 2 or 3.
With that said:
- Make sure that you eat properly before you start drinking. Having a full stomach helps your body absorb the alcohol.
- Make sure you've gotten a decent amount of sleep recently. A tired body will be more affected by alcohol.
- Space your drinks out. Supposedly the average body processes around 1 drink per hour (i.e. 1 shot/1 beer/1 mixed drink, etc.). Even if you don't wait quite this long, try to have one per half hour or 45 minutes. Sip them slowly to draw them out.
- Have a cup of water between drinks if you can, to help dilute the alcohol.
- If you're having mixed drinks, go with juice based ones instead of soda (any carbonated mixers can make the drink hit you a bit harder).
- Know your limit. If you have four drinks and feel fine, wait a little bit extra before having the fifth.
- Make sure you're not allergic to anything you're drinking - this could also be affecting you. I have a friend who's quite allergic to red wine - one cup and she'll feel sick, but she can do multiple shots of hard liquor and be fine.
Above all, know that tolerance will come with time, eventually your body will be accustomed to it and able to deal with more alcohol.
PS - In college, my roommates and I swore by this rule:
"Beer before liquor, you've never been sicker.
Liquore before beer, and you're in the clear."
Basically, if you're going to mix types of alcohol, drinking beer first won't agree with you very well.

If you want to stop feeling sick after only a few drinks, be sure to have something in your stomach before you start drinking, and don't let your stomach go empty. Also, before you go to bed, drink two glasses of water, take two advil, and eat a peice of bread and you'll be chipper in the morning!

Your body obviously doesn't tolerate alcohol. It more than likely the chemical balances of your body and the alcohol!! The best advise is not to drink!! Who says you have to drink to enjoy your evening out?? I dont ... and I can tell you I have a brilliant evening out and I have the added advantage of waking up without a hang over!!

You can have a good night out without the drink. If you can't, then you may have to space out the times between drinks - eg 1 drink every hour instead of every half hour. Or try something non-alcoholic.

Try to dilute your drinks (have a shandy instead of a pint) or if you drink spirits, take them long with a lot of mixer, or, alternate one alcoholic drink, then a glass of sparkling water or fruit juice... that way, you last as long as everyone else, still have your 5 alcoholic drinks, but don't get so sick :-)
