ok first there are 50 stars on the United States flag.

second, if u live in the U.S. and dont know this its pretty sad! just had to say that sorry but its sad if an American dont know how many stars on their flag. lol well 50 stars

Yes, it is sad if any American does not know this answer...then, look at the posts and someone thinks there are 51!!! They may be confused that we cater to our Puerto Rican friends with everything offered in English and then in Spanish (PR being a 'territory' of the United States), but indeed...unless I need to be hospitalized, there are...at this moment...50 stars; one for each state. The 49th and 50th states acquired were Alaska and Hawaii. The 51st state will probably be (one day) PR.

The US has 51 stars (1 recently being added for each state).
For each new state, a star is added to the Flag.
Thus, in all there are totally 51 stars.
