Floated in that boat myself, got out 13 years ago. Increase you water intake to 12 cups (3 canteens) or more a day. Avoid elevators, take the stairs, (hate this part) cut the beer down, avoid soda and candy. You already know the exercises, just start out slow.

-sleep early so you wont be tempted to eat food.
-dieting can cause you to become anxious with the foods that you'd like to eat, so jyou may eat any 1 serving of food for each meal. it can be anything
- eat when you are hungry, stop when your full. (even if you like the taste of the food, you should stop)
-never eat while watching telvision. it will become a habit, and then you will be eating for 6 hours at a time!
-one snack a day
-purchase the game dance dance revolution for ps2! its fun, and great excersie too. (go to the workout mode. you can type in your weight, your goal weight, and how many clalories you want to burn while dancing)
-eat a salad or some oatmeal sometime. eating healthy is good

You hanging out in diet and fitness now?!?! :)
Unless it is all in your midsection, I do not see 182lbs on a 5'9 frame being over weight.....
do you drink alot or often? just stopping that (if yes) will be a great weight reducer in itsself. And eating healthy, no more MickeyD's!! ;)

if you're unhappy with your weight, how do you think you got there in the first place? not eating healthy enough and not excercising...losing weight it completely pointless if you dont put healthy foods into your body and keep your muscles and heart excercised...its not going to prevent a possible future heart attack when you do nothing to strengthen your heart and keep it healthy. there's no quick and easy way to lose weight, and thats the problem with people...always looking for the easy way out.
