Because at the last minute, before giving us owl-sight, he decided we are too powerful of an animal already... But isn't owl-sight better at night than it is in the daytime? I feel we have pretty well-rounded eyesight.

I'm constantly wondering that too...I have such a hard time seeing the tiny creatures I catch during my nightly hunts for food.
