Hi,

I am looking for some fun and interesting things to feed my daughter. I have the normal reperatoire of chicken, soup, grilled cheese etc. I am looking for fun (something with a dip or good shapes) for my two year old daughter.

Thank you for your contributions!

I believe I read a bunch of interesting suggestions on www.babycenter.com

Toddlers are generally finiky eaters... but while fruit & veggies may be best... they are not always welcomed.

Chicken Nuggets come in dinosaur shapes... which my kid loves to march around on his plate...

Macaroni & Cheese comes in a variety of shapes - I think I may have even seen a SpongeBob one the other day.

Fruit Cups are good... Goldfish Crackers...

For full-blown meals, that's always difficult because more often than not your child will not be interested in a sit-down meal...

Offer breakfast as a nice treat at dinner time... some eggs, or pancakes are fun and easy things to make..

Hot Dogs... Grilled Cheese... they are the favorites.

I offer you the best!

My 19 month old daughter loves eating broccoli. She'll dip it in ketchup and thinks this is something else.

I buy the brick of cheese at the supermarket and cut it into cubes and thin strips, I just get creative with the shapes sometimes.

My daughter loves mandarin oranges, banana's sliced into 3 big chuncks, fresh peaches and fresh pears.

I put bread in the toaster and get it pretty toasty and she'll dip the bread in ranch dressing

my daughter loves green apples with carmel dip. fish sticks with ketchup..we buy a big bag of them and microwave them just for her.
we get string cheese and cut them in small strips. we've tried cut up carrot sticks, but that was a no go.
mostly you just have to experiment with stuff to figure out what your kid will eat, because some of the things mine will eat, yours will turn her nose at, and vice versa.
try recipezaar.com for more fun kids recipes. they have a ton, and have a forum where you can ask other parents for fun recipes too.

apple slices w/ peanut butter, cheese and crackers, anything that you eat within reason for her will be fun as long as you sit and eat it with her and let her 3/4 of the time feed herself

Just feed her smaller portions of what you're eating. Only nix the salt.

Then, you'll be sure to eat well, because your baby is eating it too. And both of you will live healthy happy lives.

And you'll keep your sanity from not having to create an artistic meal for a child who will eventually eat nothing else but star shaped cheese pieces and ants on logs.
