exercise and weight training. Make sure to only eat very lean protein or you'll get fat, and that is not the kind of weight I think you want.

bread...white bread, and fried chicken along with other fried foods its not really healthy so once you gain the weight turn it into muscle by doing some exercises (weight lifting) just enough though so you wouldnt look like those body builders, also join a sport something like soccer or volleyball or basketball and horseback riding can be good too, something other than track. You might want to look at some magazines that cater to the black community like essence or ebony. thay have fitness section that helps you to become fit but not entirely skinny. you'll have curves, nice ones.

The only way to gain weight that will be of benefit to you is to exercise. If you eat ice cream, cookies, steak and fries you will gain weight but it will be all fat and bloated gut from cramming in all the guck. Be smart and go slow, find some exercise that you like and do it while eating food that's good for you. The glow of health from exercise will look much better on you than fat cheeks and flabby thighs and extended stomach from eating to gain weight.

You don't want to gain too fast or it will all be FAT. So be careful. Eat more lean protein and good carbs like baked potatoes, whole wheat pasta and rice. Stay away from junk/fast food, sodas, candy, donuts, etc. Put on GOOD weight or in a month or so you will be back here asking how you can take this weight back off.

Eat lots of carbs and work out 3 times a week - muscle weighs more than fat. Plus being tone will make you look less skinny.
Dont stop eating any one food group take a good multivitamin so that your body can absorb better. Dont eat sugar- it will just make you lethargic.

Potatoes, pasta, and exercise will put weight on your bones.
I say exercise because muscle weighs more than fat, and is better for you.
