How much would a retainer cost for the top an bottom and the top alone? Also, do u still have monthly appointments like when u have braces?

When I got my retainer after my braces were removed, I was told it would cost about $400 to replace it!! I had to wear the retainer everyday for about two months. Now, I only have to wear it at bedtime. I also go back for checkups every six months. They just check the wear and tear of the retainer, and make sure it still fits.
They also do a good cleaning on it. Wearing it at night is not too bad.

It would depend on where you went. There would be an office visit charge, a charge for making the impression, and a charge for the actual retainer. Typically unless you don't wear the retainer as you are supposed to you shouldn't have to be evaluated again. Technically your teeth should move with the retainer. That's the purpose of wearing one. I would call several orthodontist and get price quotes.
