Don't try and get him back because he isn't worth your time. From now on, he will be lower than the mud on the sidewalk. There are all sorts of people who are two faced lying scumballs, but don't let his horrible aura prevent you from seeing the right guy for. you. What you need to do right now is just take a little time to cool off. During that cooling off time, go treat yourself like the queen that you are. Here are some suggestions.
Hang out with friends
Get your hair and nails done
Go shopping
Eat all of the sweet things you can find
Rent a man-bashing movie and watch it at home
Give yourself a bubble bath with candles and listen to some soft music
Take a boxing class or karate
Paint, sing, and dance
Do these things and you will be alright!

Wow. I have to say I can relate on some level. I stay in the position I am in at work because I am enthralled with a certain individual I work closely with. With you though you say that you know she will get someone better than you...that tells me you have some insecurities about yourself and the relationship. If you are truly resolved to think that you must part and you cannot follow your career and have her I guess you have will have to either say it or write it. Sometimes writing it will ensure that it comes out correctly because you can review it. Plus face to face leaves much room for emotional break down. I think if it were me receiving a letter I would want to hear it just like you say it here. Provide facts, especially that you do love her but feel there are potential conflicts with your future ambitions and staying together. That is really all I can suggest. It does seem a shame though seeing as you love her and all but you have to do what you have to do.

I am so sorry this happened. I know from experience it sucks to get dumped and it hurts so bad. But getting back at him wont solve anything. Move on start going out with your girlfriends again. Get rid of every thing you have of his don't waste your time anymore. You will find someone new eventually who will mean what they say. But for now enjoy being single go on lots of dates lots of free dinners!! Good luck and I am sorry again.

Honey, the best revenge is to hold your head high, walk proud and never give him the time of day. He is a jerk and doesn't even deserve for you to carry a thought in your head about him. move on............@k heads like him are not worth the energy.
There are great men out there and he is NOT one!!
