You don't have to be a monk to stop living this lifestyle.
But to answer your question you certainly can.
You're feeling a tug at your soul that is telling you that there is something more, that you were meant for much more, and now you are yearning for it.
That is what is called conviction of the holy spirit. God is calling for you. If you answer the call, your life will never be the same. If you ignore it, it will always be the same.

I am a Buddhist and am familiar with this circumstance. The answer is No, you could not do it in your present condition of mind. You are suffering (to use a Buddhist expression) because of a lack of moral discipline.
You have come to a realization about your Life....if you'll forgive me for analyzing.....I'm only pointing out the Truth regarding the facts that have been revealed, I'm not judging your lifestyle or you personally....your lifestyle has been the pursuit of alcohol and sex...yes...? Both are self serving and you have found both to be ultimately the cause of suffering..."I'm sick of this type of life" to quote you...yes.? Buddhists see human suffering is 'caused' by human cravings you see but I won't go into Buddhist philosophical ideology and esoteric issues, you probably won't want to hear it anyway and in your present state of mind you wouldn't understand anyway...
In essence you have become aware, albeit involuntarily, the cause of all suffering in the human condition...I won't get soppy and esoteric here don't worry....it now takes just a small step to fix it. (I could go into Karma, cause and effect, negative influences causing suffering...the list is long)...but the next step only requires a decision to do something...yours alone...!
To fix it takes a decision to realize the Truth of your own feelings...that is it makes you sick of it....to then help yourself to find ways purposefully to stop it, that is what do I do when I get the craving to do it again....How would a thief overcome the craving to steal..? The answer....become generous...So how does a sex fiend overcome these cravings...? Answer become Loving...your problem is Lust craving which is self serving and is devoid of Love. By Loving I mean in its true sense..kind, generous, self less, tolerant, ..Alcoholic...? Answer become tea total.none, zip, nada, nil, ever.!!..its not hard I used to be an alcoholic.
These are your decisions not mine, I can provide answers, you need to contribute to find the strength to make the decisions. All Life is change, change and cease suffering.
Peace from a Buddhist.............

Yes. It's also possible for an atheist to carry a Bible. Just because you see someone with a Bible doesn't necessarily mean he or she is a Christian.
Just because someone, who is addicted to alcohol and sex, becomes a monk or a nun doesn't mean that that person will change his or her habits.
Change only comes throught Christ.

Everything is possible.
You create your reality moment to moment based on your choices.
When Mother Theresa woke up in the morning she chose to spend her day selflessly giving to the most wretched of humanity.
When Jeffrey Dahmer woke up in the morning he chose to murder and eat homosexual drifters.
The only difference between the two were the choices they made.
If you don't like the choices you are making, make new choices.
