Chuck, sorry to hear about your plight. You should have been more careful. When I got out, I was told to guard the DD 214 with my life. I've been out of the USAF for 31 years and I still have it! Dude, I wish I had a better answer for you, I hope someone does. Thank-you for serving your country. Good luck!!

nicely in case you have been clever, you registered your dd-214 alongside with your usa Clerks place of work. Then in case you ever want a replica, you an purely bypass there and get a notorized reproduction. in case you probably did no longer do this, you bypass the two bypass to the nationwide documents information superhighway internet site and order one, or bypass via the VA.

www.va.gov apply on line
When I got out of the military, they told me to turn in a copy to my local VA office. Which I did and can get a certified copy at any time.

It may be different in different states but I know in Oklahoma, you can go to the VA office and get a copy, the same day.

When I got discharged in 1970, they told us to guard the document with our life, as it will NOT be replaced.
