7 months a go I met this guy online. We have a wonderful connection on the phone and on the e-mail but I fear that if we met in person we wont have the same connection as we do on the phone. I like this guy and I really do want to meet him but how do I get over this fear of disappointment?

You have to meet him to see. I think the chances are slim at the actual meeting of there being the same kind of attraction you had on the phone and Internets. The problem is that even if he IS telling you the truth about himself and his life, you could still lack the physical attraction to him in person. There are also many many aspects of his character that you are missing by not meeting him in person.
When we meet people in "real" life, we have the advantage of using all of our senses in judging that person and forming an opinion or attraction. Most mature adults have a good idea of who and what we are attracted to in a potential partner, including personality and chemistry. And all of this evaluation takes place on an "unconscious" level. It is a complex set of evaluation criteria based on our past experiences, our familial upbringing, and our current desires, likes, and dislikes.
And there is no way you can form any kind of appropriate evaluation or assessment on the phone or the Internet. Not one that will last, anyway.
You need to meet as soon as possible. Don't drag this thing out another week or month. Too much time has already gone by. You guys should have met months ago. If it doesn't work out in person, you are going to kick yourself for "investing" for this long with the guy. Good luck.

No one ever seems the way they are on the phone or on the Internet. If you do meet make sure it is in a public place. We all say we know this person and we really don't because they could be saying something you want to hear on the phone or the Internet and it could be all lies. Be careful.

well ask long as he's a real person evrthing should be find if you meet him and you both where completely honest evrything should be find otherwis you have a serius problem..........welll I hope everything goes well and if your not comfortable dont meet him
