I don't know but........ Sura 29:27 states clearly that, as far as Allah and the Qur'an are concerned, the only true prophets are those related to Isaac (Ishaq) or Jacob (Yaqoub); yet Muhammad, according to Muslim tradition, is related to Ishmael and not Isaac or Jacob.

what's going in your head? Allah who created the entire world can just say BE and then his order becomes reality... Is He unable to do such trivial thing ? Do you think this matter is beyond His power!!!?
Each messenger had his own miracles by God's permission and this beyond our standing or understanding.
who are you or who's myself compared with our creator? NOTHING.
The ascend occurred during the night while the people were sleeping. No body checked out whether his purified body was exiting or not.The matter was not a dream because on the next day he described to his followers some occurrences in other countries which could not be known in that era by any means of communication. In addition he described the situation of some trader's convoy from Al-Medina who left to Syria & met some troubles in the desert. When those traders came back they confimed what he had told his listeners.

His body wasn't seen in Arabia when he was on his Journey. I believe (fellow Muslims correct me if I'm wrong) he was flown on the back of a winged horse-like creature (a Pegasus, so to speak). From there he ascended through the various levels of heaven seeing Jesus, Moses, Abraham, and other prophets.
On his return, skeptics grilled him about features of the area he ascended from, and his details were correct. So either he guessed with such accuracy that has never before been seen, or, he did it as is stated in the Qur'an.

The real question is not if he ascended into heaven because his body was buried at his home in Mecca. If he "as he claimed) assented into heaven why was he kicked out and forced to return to earth. His intention (as he claimed) was to go to heaven. He was never in communications with Allah, or God, but with an angel he was told was called Gabriel. That "angel" could well have been Satan who was not above lying. Mohammed admitted as he was dying that some of his serats were made to please the devil, and some enemies, and never would say which those serats were.

I don't think that it is believed that he acended into heaven. His body is still buried in Medina in a Mosque which anyone can go visit.

I believe others have answered the asker's question quite clearly. Just to comment on Louis L's comment above, Surah Al-Ankabut verse 27 is:
And [as for Abraham,] We bestowed upon him Isaac and [Isaac’s son] Jacob, [22] and caused prophethood and revelation to continue among his offspring. And We vouchsafed him his reward in this world; [23] and, verily, in the life to come [too] he shall find himself among the righteous.
No where does it explicitly restrict divine prophethood on the family of Isaac. It mentions that Isaac and Jacob were bestowed prophethood amongst the off-spring of Abraham. Other verses in the Quran such as the ones quoted below, nullify your claim:
Say: "We believe in God, and in that which has been bestowed from on high upon us, and that which has been bestowed upon Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and their descendants, and that which has been vouchsafed by their Sustainer unto Moses and Jesus and all the [other] prophets: we make no distinction between any of them. [68] And unto Him do we surrender ourselves."
AL-IMRAN 3:84
"All praise is due to God, who has bestowed upon me, in my old age, Ishmael and Isaac! Behold, my Sustainer hears indeed all prayer:

It was a miracle by Allah, known as the Hijra, and the Mara. You should read the Noble Quaran to find out.

It was a miracle of God - many disbelieved it at the time but others who knew the honesty of the Prophet (he was called al-amin the trustworthy even by his enemies) believed it - in our times of course we know the possibility of travelling great distances in small time - so we have no reason to disbelive
The Night Journey
Glory be to He
Who carried His servant by night,
from the Holy Mosque
to the Furthest Mosque,
the precincts of which
We have blessed.
so that We might show him
some of Our signs.
Surely He is the All-Hearing,
the All-Seeing.
------------------Sura al-Isra'
------------------Qur'an 17:1
In the ninth year of the Prophet's mission, about 620 AD, Muhammad rose in the middle of the night to visit the Sacred Mosque in Makkah. After a time of worship he fell asleep near the Ka'aba. The angel Gabriel came to him and woke him from his slumber. He led the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, to the edge of the sacred Makkan mosque. Awaiting them was al-Buraq, a white winged beast "whose each stride stretched as far as the eye could see." Muhammad mounted al-Buraq and sped northwards with Gabriel to Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, the Furthest Mosque.
When they reached Jerusalem the Prophet dismounted and prayed near the Rock. Abraham, Moses, Jesus and other prophets, peace be upon them all, gathered together to pray behind him. Muhammad was presented a vessel of wine and a vessel of milk. The Prophet chose the milk and Gabriel said, 'You have chosen the true religion'.
The Prophet then embarked on the ascension (Miraj) in which he, peace and blessings be upon him, received the command to pray five times a day and the revelation encapsulating the beliefs of Islam:
"The Messenger believes in what was sent down to him from his Lord. And the believers; each one believes in Allah and His angels and in His books and His messengers. We make no division between any one of His messengers. And they say: We hear and we obey. Oh Lord, grant us Thy forgiveness; unto Thee we return." Qur'an II/285
