Every culture throughout history seemed to have their own convinient version of a God or Gods who have never been historicaly documented to do anything at all with their allmighty power.
We see death around us everyday, family friends, strangers, pets animals, carnivours feeding in the wild, is it really so hard as sad as it is to accept that we are biological being with limited spans. Do people realy need a childish fantasy of eternal happyness on a cloud to live their lives contently?

Childhood indoctrination is difficult to overcome -- it's a sociological virus.

I find it much more difficult not to believe in God because I don't see how we, for one, could be accidental. I don't get the big bang theory because it's illogical and doesn't make sense how all of this came from nothing.
If there's nothing there from the beginning, this includes other galaxies and so forth, then there's nothing to work with. This is why there must has been a being of higher intelligence who created. Where did He come from? I don't know. He never had a beginning so naturally, no one will understand eternity backwards as long as we all know we had a beginning to us.

Most people seem to believe in God because they don't understand how the whole universe could exist without their being some all-powerful being behind its making. Others believe for other reasons, one of those reasons being that they were raised to believe in God and cannot fathom otherwise.

Now, as a theist attempting to examine things from the atheist perspective, I can see where people would wonder if there really is a God, seeing as how tsunamis, earthquakes, diseases, and other nasty things happen without any apparent (notice my use of the word apparent) divine assistance.

I guess you just have to use your own logic and observations and believe what makes the most sense to you.

The people that you speak of could easily reverse the question on you. My question would be more along the lines of why you protest so much against their views?

Also if you bother to examine the theology behind most faiths especially the living faiths you will find the same core beliefs that all point in the same direction.

The pain of what you see around us comes from us. We make the decisions to kill, rob, rape, etc.

We are biological beings living in a physical world. God would not have made it if He didn't have a purpose in mind for it. We are not to live in the clouds. We are to live here. The kingdom of heaven was never going to be permanently in the clouds, it is coming to earth.

The God of Christianity is far from convenient. Most of the teachings goes against natural human inclination.

At any rate, without the hope of salvation, then purpose do we serve?

What Christian disappointed you?

Imagine there a person who met an accident and in hospital and they may be a very close friend to you. ( No offence here). If science cannot do anything at that time, can you say it is fate??
You automatically think of god the one supreme power or just a supreme power at that time. Can you argue that time, it is your friends fate or his time?? you cannot, you just only to pray god to make your friend to get well. You will not have anypoint in your mind to think about anyother thing.

If you think is it his fate, Then you belive in god too. Coz if no god, you will not belive the nonliving one called fate according to your science. Since people belive only things by hearing and seeing things, you cannot accept it.

God can be just felt in sense, Not by seeing things. So beliving is upto you. you can belive in miracle and magic's. But expecting to happen is wrong. That is not what god wants. He wants us to think well and ac't to the sutiation. He doesn't ask us to belive him. It is upto us. But if you belive him, sure god will help us. Even if you didn't pray him, It doesn't mean god won't help you. If you live true to your life, God can help you even without you praying to him.One more, all Gods in each religion have not said to pray just him. It is upto us whom you chose it.It is people who just fight just in the name of religion. Religion is the name given by us. So being spirituality is good more than being a religionist.
I have written my point of view, so no offence about others or any religionist here.

hmmm... well, even the selfish ones (like me) wonder about the miracle of the universe. since i did not built neither the universe nor the REASON it exists, i really believe someone else was generous enough to do so. even to let the REASON be there for childish interpretations (big bang bang etc blah blah). all this wonderful balance is there, and we are here free to destroy it, free to live in accordance to it, free to acknowledge there just may be something greater than our tiny selves, free to even reject such a thought. isn't He generous enough? not even after the Crucifixion of His son? Is it possible to exist out of generosity or out of nothingness? think. Amen lord, come soon.

Believing in a God gives people a reason to live. It makes us feel better to think we were "created" by a God compared to just evolving from animals. Personally, I see nothing wrong with have spiritualit.

I think religion is a diversion to take people's mind off of the corrupted governments. Just like the media. Give people something to believe in and take their minds off something, they won't blame the government for the countries problems. They just blame god.

Also, people can't become responsible for their own actions. "God said this" "God tells me to do this" and on and on. Their minds are too weak to be able to handle the real world and actually be able to deal with problems themselves.

Science has explored every possible location in human brains, nervous systems, cortex regions, etc. trying to find the location of your personality and consciousness, but it simply has no physical location.

You are not your physical body. Your animal body is simply a temporary housing of the real you, which is your eternal conscious personality.

Evolution and the cycle of physical life and death is merely the process God employs to assist with your journey of learning on your path back to Him.

It is easy to believe. Faith part took me some time. I would describe it as a personal relationship with God.

I believe that the Bible is God's life manual for us. Written by humans and inspired by God. God talks to me through His word. No one can take this away from me.
