Not long. Unless you have complications, the swelling should go down or even go away within about 2 or perhaps 3 days. You probably will be given antibiotics to prevent infections, and painkillers unless you inform the dentist that you have trouble with some of them.

swelling normally increases for 1-3 days and than slowly diminishes for 2-5 days depending on how difficult the extraction was.
Make sure that as soon as you feel a puling in your cheeks to see a doctor, as infections of the wounds can occur quite frequently. They are just painful but not dangerous. A dentist can easily open the center of inflammation and thereby relieve you from the pain possibly caused by pus.

It depends on your body. I had all 4 of mine pulled about 2 years ago. I had barely any swelling at all, and what little swelling I did have only lasted like a day. My mom, on the other hand, when she had hers pulled her entire face was swollen and bruised for a little more than a week.

Mostly it depends on how badly impacted they may be and what the dental surgeon has to do to get them out. Obviously the more invasive the procedure, the more swelling there will be. I would also strongly urge you to get all your wisdom teeth removed at one time, it saves you alot of money and pain down the road.

When I had mine out, severe swelling was over in about three days, and lesser (i.e. you can go out in public) swelling for about a week or so after the surgery. I had all four of mine out, though, and they were impacted, so it was more extensive than what you might experience.
