Nephilim (nēfĭl'ĭm) , in the Bible, Hebrew word of no known meaning, denoting peoples of gigantic stature with superhuman strength. The term is translated as “giants” in the Authorized Version. The Book of Genesis refers to Nephilim as the offspring of marriages between “daughters of humans” and “sons of God.”

I believe these would be Goliaths' ancestors.

(LOL) I just read your added post to good! That's an interesting exciting thought!

According to the Bible, some of the angelic creatures decided they wanted to enjoy sexual relations with women. Angels were not given the gift of sexual intimacy so to do so was immoral and unnatural.

If you mean are there more "goods" on earth, that is, sex on earth and not in heaven, the answer is yes. There is no such thing as sexual intimacy in heaven.

If you mean are there more "gods" on earth, the answer is no. The offspring of the union of angels and women were Nephilim. The Nephilim however were unable to reproduce. The were killed in the flood. As for the angels, they divested themselves of the human bodies they had put on and tried to return to heaven. They were unable. They are now restrained and awaiting destruction by the hand of God. They are the disobedient angels spoken of in 1 Peter 3:18-20 - they are in Tartarus - imprisoned - the ones to whom Jesus preached a message of condemnation.

Genesis 6:4 states that "There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown." Where do you find angels in this?? Just because somebody who can not understand the BIBLE tells you that this means so does that make it so?? I think not. We are told that heaven is worth the wait. You need to begin reading and studying the HOLY BIBLE. That will help you to determine what is real and what is NOT. Have a great day!

Sons of men referred to were angels who materialized as men (for above answerer)

Jude 6 "And the angels that did not keep their original position but forsook their own proper dwelling place he has reserved with eternal bonds under dense darkness for the judgment of the great day."

There is no physical stuff like what we have here. Heaven is a place for spirits. There they don't eat, sleep, drink etc...The account shows how Satan can powerfully influence through lust.

That is why the teaching that the dead goes in heaven is not correct. God has promised a paradise and it will be on earth as it was during Adam and Eve's time.

Psalm 37:11 But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth,And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.

True there is a 'little flock' that Jesus promised will be going in heaven, they are the anointed ones (people calls them elect) but paradise is on earth and those anointed ones will rule over those living on earth.

Remember the account of Lazarus...he was a good man, but Jesus brought him back to life...if he as most believe went to heaven, why would Jesus bring him back to earth?

Assuming Genesis is accurate - and one equates Angels with Gods - then yes, the decedents of Gods walk amongst us.

Since the origins of Christianity lie in Judaism, we need to look there for the rules on Gods. Initially Judaism acknowledged the existence of all Gods - however the Jews were the first to pick one God above all others. And the first to dedicate themselves to the worship of one God.

Based on that - yes, the old Gods still exist, and descendent's of the Nephilim walk amongst us today...

Who were these "sons of God" is the real question. There is nothing that really indicates that they were angels. I would say also that there is no passage in all the Bible that says angels are the sons of God. So you can dynamite that theory right away. I have a Dake's Annotated Reference Bible sitting here under my arm, and I'm sure that he reads into this story and says that these were angels, but he is famous for reading between the lines and speculating things that aren't there. Nothing wrong with making such theorizations, as long as no one forgets that it is merely theory. But you know, that's how rumors and long tales get started. Take evil-ution for example. I don't think this passage is saying that these were angels having intercourse with women. I think that it is referring to men as being God's offspring, just as Adam was referred to as "the son of God" (see Luke 3:38)

not necessarily. interestingly enough the bible says that the nephilim (the offspring of man/angel) were heroes of old and men of renown. however in the bible it calls them evil.

and in reality we cant say we have more of anything on earth then in heaven, seeing as we cant measure heaven as we cant see it or anything.

in the bible it shows many times where angels come down and meet up with humans.

(speaking of which, isnt Jesus a man of renown? a heroe of old? whats to say mary didnt get impregnated by an angel, and to cover up and protect her child she concocted a lie about how its actually god's son not the angels? after all if the bible says god thought nephilim were evil, then wouldnt the pharisees had tried to kill jesus had they find out he was an offspring of an angel and a woman?)

Think logically angels are not material beings they do not have any kind of body the Church made their bodies. Second since they are not human beings they can't reproduce with us. It's like saying you are going to have a baby with a mouse. It just can't happen. Third they are not goods to begin with. Angels were made by GOD remember and since they aren't GODS to begin with they can't give life to GODS and so even if they did have babies they would not be GODS because angels aren't GODS their children would be half angels

this is a description of genetic engineering of some kind ,angels dont have reproductive organs or the power of creation so the only way the angels or annunaki could make women bear child is through genetic engineering

Goods or Gods? If goods, then I guess so. If gods that is a possible theory to explaining how other religions got their gods. Maybe these powerful beings were worshipped by people who didn't know any better.
