Aili Jitsu isn't new, It's been around since the mid 19th century. It is the predessot of Aikido & lacks the spiritual component.

Aiki JuJitsu (spelling counts), as pointed out, is a very old and very military martial art.

Yes, it's the Samurai arts. Since Aiki JuJitsu was turned into Aikido there have been many practitioners who have put Karate and Jujitsu back into Aikido. I myself studied Tomiki-Ryu Aikido (a blend of Aikido and Judo). The danger here is finding a martial arts instructor who teaches a blend of martial arts and calls it Aiki JuJuitsu. Check their background, who they trained with - see if they can give you a lineage of teachers. I know I could if asked.

Overall, the Martial Art is real - the Martial Artist teaching it COULD be a fraud.

Aiki Jiu Jitsu...the empty handed fighting style used by the Samurai. It is the parent style that Aikido, Jiu Jitsu, and Judo are derived from. One of the oldest fighting styles in japan, even older that Karate. Difficult to learn, but well worth the time and effort IF you can find an instructor that is willing to train for combat effectiveness in a true traditional manner.

Someone has already mentioned that Aiki Jujitsu is an ancient Samurai art; it involves wrestling and a version of Chin Na (control/joint locks). It is good for cage fighting, but in real life it can be impractical (particularly for multiple-attacker settings, since people who start fights on the street rarely do so alone).

Its a more specific kind of branch of Ju Jitzu. It involves the same styles and tecniqes of the regular ju jitzu, mixed with a different martial art named Aiki Do. Its basically Kick-Boxing mixed with Wrestling.

never heard of it. I have heard of Gracie.......are they similar? I would imagine they are quite similar. Aiki is probably just another form developed by a person or club.
Pick up a Ju Jutsu magizine at the store and see if that will help you out.

It's always time for real Martial Arts. I've heard of Aikijitsu, it is the forerunner of Aikido & Hapkido. It lacks the spiritual side of these 2. IMHO, the spiritual side is essential for a true Martial Art.

no but it sounds like a mix of aikido and jiu jitsu which would mean it probably involves BOTH joint locks and throwing your opponent along with getting out of locks since aikido is throwing and jiu jitsu is joint locks mostly
