The term "losing my religion" is an old southern term. To explain it in context, if a waitress were serving a customer who happened to become particularly rude, the waitress might tell her co-workers, "I just lost my religion at that table".
Oh, and the song sucks. R.E.M.'s long-term success is one of life's great mysteries to me.

Was a good song by REM which my med school class ruined forever by doing a parody called "Losing My Erection" for Beer & Skits.

The prophecies given in the bible were given by prophets. Prophets speak the mind, will, desire, and heart of God. I would leave it up to you to make the decision to belive what I am about to say or not. I was once a back slider. I even became a atheist, and denied all of Christianity and all it stoods for five entire year (At age 14). I hated church, and even God. I totally belive the scienctist theory of evolution. I was angry because my parents had separated, and I was an outcast in school. I was upset; what type of God would do this? I hated those people who gave prophecies. I thought they were wierd, rude, and annoying. I thought they were liars, and just wanted to aggravate everyone to death about Jesus. I thought the Holyghost was a complete fake. It was not until 2 years ago (At the age of 19) when I was about to commit suicide, and was in credit card debt over the hill, did I return to Christ. Even then I was not totally convince. The Lord began to deal with me in visions and in dreams. That is when I really became a believer. I was scared because I didn't know what was going on. I was so terrified, that I slept with a light on. Imagine that, me a grown man with a light. I decided to ask the Lord to baptize and fill me with the Holy-Ghost. After that he began to make things clear to me. You don't have to believe me. To each it's own. No Preacher, Pastor, Apostle, Teacher, Prophet, Minister, Elder, etc. can force someone to accept Christ. That is a decision one has to make, and accept for themselves. The choice you, me, or anybody else makes is totally up to them. It is one they will have to live with......? The path you choose is up to you..............................
Source(s):
Have a nice day. I will not leave any scriptures, or quotes. The only thing I will say is choose which decisions fits you best, and live with it. I know I have, because I was once in your footsteps for five years.

They're right...
Loose the religion. Jesus faught with the religious establishment of His time.
Religion perverts the purity of faith and makes worship unbearable.
