I need to print something off a memory card. How do I take pictures saved to my computer and put them back onto an Olympis XD memory card?

I got a picture printer for christmas. You just stick the memory card into it to print the picture. You CAN hook it up to a computer and print form there but you need a USB cable which I don't have.

Cheapest option is to buy a USB cable - why printers don't come with them is a mystery to me. However, to use a memory card, just insert that into whatever slot you use to transfer pics to your computer. It will appear as a drive, just drag and drop the pics you want to print on to it as if it were any other drive.

I'm not sure WHY you would want to upload pictures BACK to your camera?

Newer computers have card readers where you can insert the camera's card directly into the computer (eg: CompactFlash, SecureDigital). Yours may or may not have a compatible reader. Otherwise you might be able to buy a card reader that would plug into the USB port. You would of course have to take the card out of the camera first (make sure it is turned off).

When the card is connected, the computer's file browser (eg Windows Explorer) treats the card as another drive (designated a letter E, F, G, etc.). You would then just do a standard copy-and-paste, or drag-and-drop, from the computer's hard drive (C: if Windows) to the drive being used by the card.

You may (though I haven't tried it) try uploading the pictures directly to the camera using the supplied connector cable, but bypassing the camera's downloading software by accessing the camera via the computer's explorer browser (USB drive).

On my camera, you can't. But you shouldn't have to. You should be able to print directly from the saved file on your computer.
