The ones in this question who state 6k or 10k are both wrong.

We have factual proof that at least NOAHS flood is definately more than 12k years ago.

Caves in Egypt that never had water, but have been dated to 11k & older (no science, simply pictures & events).

Yup, I've known a couple that did. Fundamental Christianity and Science seem to be at absolute opposites of each other. It's not like that in the other monotheistic religions (Judaism, Islam) nor is it like that for a majority of christians. But those batty folks who really believe the earth is just a few thousand years old are frighteningly uneducated. They are like the worst episode of the 700 Club that you could ever imagine.

I'm still believing Pat Robertson is Master Yoda's evil twin though. That will NEVER change.

I would call them a "young-earth creationist." It is a very right-wing and extreme segment of the fundamentalist population. In Webster's Thesaurus, the term "young-earth creationist" appears as a synonym for the term "science-fearing hillbilly."

No, some believe it's 10,000 years old! And in this beleif they are unscriptural. At least the cretins (from a French word for Christian) who believe it's 6000 years old get it from an OT chronology. One that's dead wrong, but at least they didn't pull it out of thin air.

Fascinating, isn't it?

And the sad part is, you have people like the one above that honestly believes NASA proved it was.

Some people get their science from an education. But it seems like most get it from Ripley's Believe It Or Not.

Wrong. 10,000. NASA had a formula to calculate the amount of dust on the moon. At billions of years old they were afraid the lunar lander would simply sink out of sight. When they landed the dust was inches deep so they calculated the moon and the earth to be about 10000 years old.
