I was in Sally's Beauty Supply the other day and i saw a GHD straightner, well, to me, it looked EXACTLY like a CHI just like half the price. I'm looking for a new straightner and i would like to know which one is better. Chi vs. GHD.
Thanks.

I have a CHI, and I love it. I have never heard of a GHD. The Salon I go to uses HAI and CHI, they do a terrific job with both. I have no formal training in cosmetology and the CHI works very well at home. There are a few you should look into. I don't know how accesible the array of them are to you, but you can purchase a lot of them online. There is a new brand called Corioliss* (sp). It is sold in kiosks in "high end" malls, but it is supposed to be better than the CHI, because it is Ceramic throughtout, instead of plated like the CHI. I don't suggest ourchasing from Sally's unless you are on a tight budget. I pray you find one you love. It is a great investment.

there is nothing better than a Farouk Systems CHI flat iron. i did the same thing a few years ago, and ended up spending $45 at Sally's and having my hair be pulled by the plates and not get totally smooth and then having to go get the CHI one a month later. there is a reason the CHI irons are known worldwide even for professionals as the iron of choice. spend the extra money on the real deal, it is so worth it.

All of the salons I go to use a Chi. Everyone I ask, likes the Chi. I don't have it and I bought one at Sally's and it is good. I guess the Chi is probably better though.

the chi iron may look similar but do not compare in terms of performance. the ghd iron is now on its 5th version since it launched. The Chi is still on number 1 version using v basic technology. Take a look at http://www.greathairdirect.com/ghd-hair-straighteners.htm

I work at a salon, and the only straightner we use is CHI. When buying a straightner, you want one that works good and last you longer. There is no point of buying a cheaper one if you going to be unsatisfy about it later. :)

ghd is better no doubt, get it. chi tear up very fast i knew that and still got one it lasted about 4 months and now ont turnon longer than 2 seconds. they are made cheap the coils burn out inside. i've heard great thingd about ghd though, they are almost the best!

ive heard mixed reviews about the chi....
some say its lasts for years, others say only weeks
some say it doesnt damage their hair, others say it fries them
some say its worth the money, some say it isnt.
i myself have a 30 dollar ceramic straighten and works just as fast as my friends chi.

I would go with the cheaper one and If you are not happy Sallys is fairly good about returns you can switch it out with the more expensive one.
