Well, chewing is a sign of boredom. Do you walk her? If not, you may want to spend about an hour a day outside with her walking and playing. That way, she'll be too tired to chew. If you do walk her, try taking her to a dog park on the weekends. That way she can play with other dogs and wear herself out playing. Also, try to monitor her while roaming your house. Patience, this too shall pass. We've raised many puppies and their usually done with the chew stage before they are 2 yrs.

Get some baby gates and keep her out of that room until she grows up, unless you're in the room and can watch her.

Buy a kong for your puppy and spread some peanut butter inside they will spent hours chewing and licking it.

Take the puppy for many long walks, keep it well exercised and tired.

Never leave shoes, socks or other small clothing items out.

Feed 2 or 3 times a day.

Nothing wrong with locking the puppy (with a few toys, food, water and a blanket to sleep on) in the bathroom if you have to leave it alone.

Good luck.

I dont know of anyone but i've got some amusing tips that might distract her from eating away at the household furniture:

1. Get a big/small bottle fill it with her favourite dog treats so that she has 2 chew/bite away the bottle to get her treats! Leave a few around the house so she is amused in every part of the house

2. Get a large chewing bone and leave a few around the house

3. Get a very very large teddy full of stuffing and put them in front or near the household furniture. These stuffed teddies should replace the chewing of the couch!

Do you have any chew toys for her like rope bones, stuffed squeek toys, rawhide bones? if not then get some asap! since she is not a year old yet then she is still a puppy and is still dealing with her puppy teeth. Also do you play with her, if not you may want to start as puppies have a lot of energy to burn especially at that age and she is trying to burn all of that pent up energy. If you have a nice big backyard, put her out into the backyard while you're gone and let her have a blast, dogs love fresh air and that way she can run and play and not destroy anything of major value also take her for a nice long walk.

I asked a similar question a few days ago, and I got some excellent suggestions. I tried some, and here is what worked for me. Crate the dog when you are not home. It is not cruel and the dog actually uses that time to sleep/chew his toys. Buy a variety of chew toys. I've found that my dog likes nyla bones/rope toys, but yours may like something else. Becareful with rawhide though, they need to be monitored while chewing incase they choke. Try to take the dog out for exercise before you are leaving him unattended. They tend to be tired and sleep after exercise. My dog was chewing up expensive electronic items (my desktop is ruined!) but these suggestions helped and he hasn't ruined anything since.

Crate training is the best solution and the easiest on your budget and the dog. Crate her when you are gone with something appropriate to chew. The little thing is chewing to release tension and anxiety-she'lll be less inclined to chew in a crate. My little girl is a regular buzz saw when she's loose, but when I crate her she rarely chews....she'lll wait till I'm home, take her bone of the crate with her, and go chew it.

well obviously many dogs chew things but the reasons y they chew things are different. but mainly its because they r bored. so u can find something suchas getting a bunch of chew toys or u can put like ur bags up where she cant reach them. but i would set some limits for ur dog so that she knows what she can and cant do! i would email cesar millan at www.cesarmillaninc.com! so i hope this helps! good luck with ur dog. =)

If you let her roam free, then section off a part of the house with baby gates and keep her in an area of the house that doesn't contain expensive items. Either that or crate train her so she can't do damage while you're not at home.

Well all you have to do is give the dog alot of chew toys . And every time the dog starts to bit on something say "No" sternly and hand it a chew toy that way the dog gets reminded that she is not allowed to bit on things besides her chew toys.

If you buy that spray like Sour Apple and spray it on the things she loves to bite she'll taste the spray and will eventually stop. Dogs hate sour taste and so she won't want to chew on it anymore. Some sprays don't stain as well so it won't ruin your expensive furniture. :)
