I made my own, by printing my save the dates on a post card, then I applied a magnet on the back, they turned out great and spend a lot less then having them done. You also have more flexibility on how you want them to look or say, most places have standard wordings or pictures. Good Luck

I <3 this site, and I actually have a save the date magnet in my gallery! You can take a look and if you order you can just change the text for your wedding date. I don't know how much you consider "too much money," but I think they are reasonable, and the more you buy, the cheaper they are!

If you do them business card size, you can get the magnets at on office supply like Staples or Office Depot; about $10 for 25
If you do them bigger you might be able to find sheet magnet someplace on the net. But you could just get strip magnet at any craft store or Joann's and add that to the back of your card.
As afar as templates, go to Southworth. com. They have all kinds of templates for weddings & other needs.
Save the date cards should be going out r-e-a-l soon, especially to out-of-towners.

I think vistaprint.com and thestationerystudio.com both make magnets. Magnets can be expensive, so you might want to just make save the date cards instead. If you're going to send out invitations soon anyway, there's no need to send out save the date cards. Just send the invitations asap instead.

www.abcustom.com will give you 30% off your entire order of Save the Date magnets. You'll have to look at their products (under shop) to see if you like their magnets. They sell Carlson Craft products (so they are very professionally done.)

This is a neat idea. You can print up the design on your computer, then go to a craft store and buy sheets of magnet and glue on the design and cut them out....not hard at all. Have fun with it and your honey can help you make them!!!
