basically.

You would think his own people would know who the Messiah is from there own texts.

yet who were the ones who bought it? People who often never saw the text in front of them or only though the Christian perspective.

tells you something.

The famous prohecy given by Daniel concerning the Messiah gives the answer in verse 27. Daniel 9:27 states: “And he must keep the covenant in force for the many for one week [or seven years]; and at the half of the week he will cause sacrifice and gift offering to cease.” The “covenant” was not the Law covenant because Christ’s sacrifice removed it.

God, through Christ, extended the blessings of the Abrahamic covenant to the Jews, excluding the Gentiles until the gospel was taken to them through Peter’s preaching to the Italian Cornelius. (Ac 3:25, 26; 10:1-48) This conversion of Cornelius occurred after the conversion of Saul of Tarsus about 34 C.E.So bringing Cornelius into the Christian congregation took place about the autumn of 36 C.E., which would be the end of the 70th “week,” 490 years from 455 B.C.E.

The gospel was given to the Jews first, then to the Gentiles according to prophecy.

The 11 apostles were sent to the Jews and many Jews believed along with the original apostles. Jesus came to fulfill prophecy and it was prophesied that "He came to His own and His own knew Him not." The Messiah walked among the Jews but they wanted their religious; churchey' best dressed positions and money/pride places of authority. The church was full of money grabbers, just like today. To accept Jesus they would need to change their ways.

Then Jesus took the most unlikely man and blinded him on the road to Damascus, a Jew of Jews, a Roman Citizen, a Pharisee, a Christian persecutor and told him he would suffer many things for His name Jesus. Jesus sent Paul to the Gentiles. Paul taught and established many home churches.

The Bible tells us that the heart of the Jews has been partially hardened until all the Gentiles come in. Jesus Christ, Almighty God is not finished with the Jews. When the last Gentile has been saved, He'll rapture the Body of Christ up, and 144,000 Jews will teach the gospel, even an angel flying in heaven will teach it and All the remnant of Israel will be saved. Of the 70 weeks, one week (7 years) is left for the Jews before the return of Christ. This will start when the Body of Christ is raptured up.

That's right, those people who won't accept in Christs teachings, well then Christ will take it to people who are open to it.
Paul even touched on this in one of his letters.
