Chocolate, the dark or milk variety, will melt in your hads...from the heat. Otherwise, chocolate "melts" in your mouth by two processes. First, the heat and moisture will physically turn the solid into a liquid form where,secondly, the enzymes that naturally occur in saliva break down the fats in the cocoa butter and release that most satisfying of flavors....CHOCOLATE!!!

That is only true of the candy coated variety - the candy coating protects the chocolate from the heat of your hand. Other wise chocolate will melt in your hand leaving sticky residue on your fingers.
