I want to buy a digital camera and most of the cameras I saw that powered by batteries were cheaper...do they take bad pics? Do cameras that charge by pluging it into the an outlet work better?

All digital cameras run in batteries. I've watched dozens of professional photographers at a NASCAR or Indy race take hundreds of pro-quality shots on batteries.

They just use rechargable batteries, and take spares. They have recharger stands, and I don't think that any pro-quality have a built-in recharger.

Look for the best lenses you can afford. That is the secret to good pics. If you get one w/ cheap (plastic) lenses then you'll never have great pics.

You must mean are proprietary batteries better than standard off the shelf sizes (like AA , AAA, CR2, or 123A)

Some cameras are harder on batteries than others. The advantage to a camera that uses AA is you can find batteries almost anywhere. If your camera uses a proprietary battery, then you are SOL until it is recharged unless you bought an extra.

Go to www.dpreview or www.stevesdigicams to research cameras. Both sites rate battery life in actual usage conditions.

I have a rather sizable digicam, the Canon Powershot G6, and one battery charge will last well over 600 shots, using the screen for review (but not the flash, I use a hot shoe flash rather than the on board flash, it has its own batteries.)

I even have that digital camera and that i've got been given some some rechargeable 2000 mAh and that they bypass lifeless after 5 photos, so i choose for to get the 2500 mAh and notice if that works. The Duracell coppertop batteries seem to final longer than maximum. take be conscious, in case you're utilizing the video putting or the liquid crystal show show, you will use batteries speedier.
