Genetics. It's all in the genes.

By the way, some women do go bald. Those ones are the slight, unlucky ladies who got the genes that most men get.

And, if you notice, a lot of the balding happens to caucasian people. To other ethnicities, have less balding men.

So, if you're a girl - marry a man who isn't balding. Because, the likeliness of your kids going bald is about 99.99%.

Kidding about the percentage. But, it is very possible.

There are 2 answers: one, a hormone named testosterone , if in excesss, make men to lose their hair, and women to get more hair on their legs, arms and face.
And women, at 50s, when entering menopause, have estrogen level in exces and lose their hair.
The second answer refers to the genetic reason of losing hair; if one has a bald father or grandfather, perhaps his or her children will be bald.

Women go bald (completely) from Alopecia, rather than male patern baldness. It isn't as well known, since women who lose their hair tend to wear wigs rather than embrace the look, which I find quite attractive.

It is a genetic thing and it is connected to testosterone production. So if a man is neutered, he won't go bald.I don't know many who would do this though as a cure for baldness
