these past few weeks have been emotionally and physically draining. my wife lost her job, and i've been working full tilt. now that things r looking up, and i'm able to breathe a bit, it's all catching up with me. all i want to do is be able to sleep undisturbed today. but earlier last week, i promised my mom that we'd be there at her christmas dinner today. should i feel obligated to go?

I DON'T THINK YOU HAVE 2 GO ANYWHERE.YOUR MUM SHOUDL UNDERSTAND YOUR SITUATION.YOU'VE BEING THROUGH A LOT IN THE PAST WEEKS & IF U FEEL LIKE RESTING DO IT.ON THE OTHER HAND YOU COULD ENJOY YOURSELF IF U GO 2 UR MUM'S.IT MAY BE THE BREAK YOU NEEDED.

Well, you should not feel obligated but since it is the holidays you should have gone to her Christmas dinner. You can sleep in on another day, make your mom happy. It's a simple gesture.

If you told her that you were going to be there then you need to be there. Don't disappoint her. You can catch up on your sleep by going to bed early tonight. Never break a promise and if you tell someone you are going to do something, that is a promise.
