nah, not too bad, actually.
it all really depends on what kind of a daycare it is.
is it a center with lots of staff, or just a home day care?? are they supplying all the food or are you??
we pay $424 per month for our baby and we supply all formula bottles and diapers and wipes. now, once he starts eating solids they will provide it all. plus, we have found that our cost is much better compared to other people we know.
my sister lives in a completely different state, but she pays about $1200 month for her 2 girls.
day care is expensive. there's no doubt in that!
take care.
P.S. you can also get money back on your taxes for your daycare expenses....i'm not sure how it works yet b/c this is the first year for daycare, but i know you get some kind of a break with your taxes and daycare fees.

I work at a daycare for infants through 12 year olds. Full time 5 days a week full days, (over 5 hours) and it's 145 a week up until they turn 3. Then when they hit 3 it's 115 a week. Otherwise if you only bring your infant toddler a coulple of full days a week it's 30 a day. In the 3 year old room it's 24 a day.
We're pretty reasonable. There is a daycare down the road that just opened and they charge 185 a week for infants.
You do get to claim it on your taxes though. The owner/director will hand you a slip in Jan. that tells the amount that you paid throughout the year with their provider ID number which your tax person will need to get you the break.
Ps. We only provide bkfst and 2 snacks a day, the parents provide lunch, drinks, diapers and wipes.
We're in Michigan.

The daycare I work at charges $800 a month for fulltime care. Kids who are not potty trained are slightly more. Generally, you get what you pay for - cheaper chain daycares hire minimum wage/minimum education caregivers, our school only hires fully credentialed teachers with BA degrees. If you are prepared to leave your child in the care of another, I think you'd want the best possible care. However, staying home and raising your own child is always best. No matter how good the school, the children always miss their Mommy! :(

Daycare is almost always expensive. The one I worked at charged $16.50 a day. I am babysitting two kids in my house over Christmas break from school and I am making $30 a day. You can get cheaper care usually in someone's home, but I don't recommend it unless you know the person very very well. Daycare is a good place for your child in most cases.

Depends on where you live and what kind of service you are getting. $110 is average for a child over one. It can cost more for babies.

Sounds resonable to me. We pay $20 a day and that is usually for an hour before school and an hour after school.

I pay $600.00 per month for my 6 month old. That is the least expensive I've found here, other places are up to $1100.00 for under two...
