Actually Catholicism IS Christianity. They started the whole Christian deal. Then other groups of Christians started branching off of them and the Catholic church for not liking what they did.

I am amazed how many Christians do think that Catholicism is Christian. I start to think that the reformation was all for nothing if Christians can't tell the difference between them. One answerer said something about history, If you study history it take Catholicism right back to Constantine in the 300's and then centuries later the Catholics rewrote their history to take it back to the time of the Bible. The Bible says nothing about it and certainly doesn't place Peter as the leader of the early church.

You are correct. Actually Catholicism would be better described as a "pseudo-Christian cult". It "looks" like Christianity from a distance. Some of its members are actually Christian. The vast majority are not, especially the clergy. All serious, or devout Catholics "think" they are Christian. This is a sad situation, they can not be helped. They are a lot like the Jews 2000 years ago-they are too wrapped up in their religion to see the truth even if it stares them in the face.

Catholics are Christians, they accept the Nicean Creed. They believe in Jesus as the son of God and that he resurrected and ascended to heaven. What is not Christian about that? I find it insulting when anti-catholics criticize the Catholic Church when their religion came from that church they detest. Whether you're presbyterian, episcopelian, lutheran etc. you bible came from the bible the Catholic Church used. They were translated it and that was it. Many Anglican churches have what they called "catholic traditions" meaning they have bishops, cardinals, decorate their churches beautifully, and baptized infants. Where did that come from? The Catholic Church. By saying Catholics aren't Christians you're insulting your religious roots. Then, that means you aren't Christian either. Learn a little bit more and then talk.

The Catholic Church grew to become into as quickly as favourite via way of Jesus. people who say that the Catholic Church began in the time of the time of Constantine are incorrect. there's no longer any previous data pointing to this. via the time the Edict of Milan, allowing religious tolerance (some revisionist erroneously say that this edict created the Catholic Church and made it the respected church of Rome) grew to become into as quickly as proclaimed there had already been extra suitable than 50 popes that reigned from the time of Peter. The Church grew to become into as quickly as already in many situations going on because of the fact the Catholic Church as early as advert 107 in keeping with the writings of St. Ignatius of Antich. this is somewhat achieveable that the term already carried out in the time of the known century. specific, the fundies and evangelicals have new heretical doctrines that weren't taught via way of the Apostles of Jesus. those fake doctrines are favourite on their incorrect interpretation of th Bible. And the extreme ingredient is that various those fundies say that they are the single precise Christians and that Catholics do no longer look Christians.

2 verses (among many others) proves catholicism(among many others) as a false religion.
John 3:3 Jesus said to Nicodemus 'I assure you, unless you are born again, you will not see the Kingdom of God '
Ephesians 2:8,9 :
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.
Catholics teach works and sacraments are required for Salvation. This couldn't be further from the truth.
God offers a free GIFT of Salvation. You can not EARN a gift.

Jesus started Christianity, NOT the Catholic church.
The Catholic church teaches dogma that is in direct conflict with the Word of God.
How do you know a prophet is from God? Because they woulod never be wrong. The same with a church that serves God, that church would never deviate from God's Word, but the Catholic church DOES deviate from God's Word.
The Catholic church is a non-Christian cult.

Jeremiah knew nothing about Christianity, let alone Catholicism. But leave it to a Fundy to twist the OT to mean anything he likes.

Mm. Read a little church history, say around the 1500's or so. Look up a guy named Martin Luther. Protestant denominations came from the Catholic church, and are about 1200 years younger.
