In my opinion I believe that Persian (Farsi and Dari) is the sweetest language. Not only in pronunciation (which I'm sure some people would disagree), but also for the poetry and literature. The greatest poets of the ancient world to include Hafez, Rumi, and Ferdowsi have personified the Persian language to such an extent that Persians (Iranians and Afghans alike) can make any love scene an epic, or any political nightmare seem the most disgusted scene through metaphors to hide the true intent. The metaphors used in the language are with such deep meanings that I think have no exact equivalent or no exact level of power. Persian has such a history that the Romance languages cannot compete. With the Islamic conquest in 9 a.d. there was no choice but to carefully choose the words to express any emotion, and Persian has a very unique way of expressing that emotion. That, in my opinion, creates the most sweet and rich language.

And I speak all those and really can see that's true :)!!! Leanr them if you want to enjoy :D!
Good luck to you,

I'm not sure. French doesn't sound as romantic to me as it's supposed to, and i take french so i know. all languages can sound sweet. if there was a 2 year old girl speaking in some foreign language, of course it woud sound sweet no matter what language it was (unless she was screaming and crying and acting like angry kids do). My favorite is Japanese, because it just seems to roll of your tongue when you speak it. i'm not saying it sounds "sweet" because i don't really know your definition of "sweet". but all languages can sound sweet in my opinion. Japanese sounds kind of, well, it can depend. if a little kid is speaking it, then it's cute. if lovers speak it, it can be sweet. if anyone's speaking it, then it's just another cool language!

My favorite language is Esperanto. I love the dream behind it, to promote world peace through everyone speaking the same 2nd language. I also love the fact that learning Esperanto has allowed me to speak to people from all over the world, from many different cultures, without falling prey to the world's opinion of US citizens at large, that we expect everyone to learn English.
