When I was 15, I went to school with this really awesome guy who I ended up having the biggest crush on and I never really knew how to go about talking to him so it was always very awkward small talk over AIM. I am 18 now, and I haven't seen him in person since I was 15, and I still like him so much. I visit his facebook sometimes and try to think of something to say to him, but I really don't know what to say since I have never really spoken to him all that much in person and I haven't said anything to him in a while. Any suggestions as to what I should do to get to know him without sounding awkward and obsessed?
P.S. Keep in mind that he knew I liked him toward the end of my sophomor year.

Although you've had a long time crush on this guy, all you really know about him is what he's written on his facebook and what you've made up in your mind. So... just send him a note. Say "I'm not sure if you'll remember me from highschool but I always had a huge crush on you!" Then see how he responds.

A lot of women will tell you to just approach him but I want to tell you the way it works best, forget him. Just let him be a cool crush in your mind. You say that he knew you liked him so he should be making the "move" and would be if he's interested or simply perhaps he may make a move: you just be friendly and receptive. The guy you really want is the one going crazy over you/figuring out how to approach you/what to say-they're the best the ones that chase after you!

It seems like a complicated situation to me, but not totally bad. Maybe over AIM you should bring up funny times the two of you had. Or give him the link to a funny video. It'll break the ice between you two. Then, when you two are REALLY are talking, you could say "Hey, you wanna meet somtime? I forget what you look like." If you had already made this strong connection, he'll say yes.
