Does anyone have any info about what Y.A. is? My teacher its much more hardcore than juvenile hall for people ages like 15-25, anyone have more info? why somone would go their instead of juvinile hall ect...

It isn't "Youth Assistance." It refers to the Youth Authority, the state operated "prison" system for housing juveniles. Generally local jurisdictions (counties most often) run a juvenile hall for the local housing of juveniles who need to be locked up but whose crimes are not such that the period is going to be real long. A juvenile hall may lock up someone for anywhere from a few days to a few months.

Juveniles who commit serious crimes (murder, rape or robbery for example) calling for incarceration for months or years, are usually committed to the Youth Authority and are housed by the state in a special state "prison" housing only juveniles.

On here it usually refers to 'Yahoo Answers'.... Youth Ambassadors was a church group that I used to attend.
