...what kind of god would you envision (if any) with only these two books to keep you company, inspire your mind, and stir your imagination?

without the influence of religious leaders, would you come to believe in an authoritarian god? a loving god? a punishing god? no god at all? are you sure?

Perhaps if I was stranded and did not know of religion.. I would most likely end up burning the books (Not meaning to be sacreligious) for fire to cook some food on... (:

Hmm.. But in all seriousness, I would take the two books as two different randitions of a story and probably think of it as nothing more as a story.

Being an agnostic, let me say that both Books sound like fiction to me.

However, the New Testament and the Life and Death of Jesus Christ is really quite an inspiration.

The Koran is, I'm sorry to say, very uninspiring. I've read both and I do know some Arabic, but I found the Koran really seemed to regard me as some simpleton who could easily be fooled by just sayin "In the name of Allah,..." at the drop of a hat and saying "And, We say, O Prophet ..." and "O Maryum, We have given you...." In other words, it was a preposterous attempt of a charlatan to pass himself off as the Spokesman of God, Himself.

How the Moslems can believe this is beyond me. But then, to each, his own.

Cheers!!!!!

I even have tried quite a few instances to envision the Koran and have made it by way of distinctive the passages (sirrah?). It rambles so and keeps taking breaks to positioned up to Allah, so it does not carry my interest ok. I even have been advised that the interpretation I even have would not be between the greater advantageous ones. nonetheless I even have not examine the e book of Mormon, I even have examine comparisons on Mormon, Catholic, Protestant, and Jehovah's Witness denominations with some quotations. upload: Oh, yeah. i'm additionally working my way interior the path of the Message (a action picture). this is the tale of Mohammad (saws)written and directed by using a spiritual Muslim. nonetheless Mohammad (saws) in no way looks interior the action picture (taboo against graven photographs) the author of the action picture replaced into centred by using quite a few minor Jihads. Of exciting word is that he filmed the action picture concurrently in English and Arabic applying the same units whilst changing distinctive the actors.

The Qur'an God would reveal Himself as a strict no-nonsense God, who is authoritarian, loving, and punishing.

The Bible God would reveal Himself as the same as the Qur'an God, but Jehova would reveal himself as different from the Bible God / Qur'an God.

If you were left to yourself who knows what you would come up with. Probably something different than is already out there, that is why their are so many different churches. If you had some direct revelation or inspiration from God you would get it right. That's why God had Prophets and Apostles.

From the Bible a loving all powerful God who promises eternal life with Him.

From the Quran a God who promises 72 black eyed virgins, but I am a woman and what would I do with them

The Quran repeats many verses of the Bible so I would concentrate on it and enhance my belief of a powerful, yet loving God as I meditate each day.

We all need some authority to look up to and give us answers. Most of choose what sounds good to us, according to either what we like, or what we feel we need. I find it in the Christian/Judaic Bible, with a loving God who calls us to a higher way of life.

Well, if I were stranded, then I'd be out in nature, which would simply allow me more time to commune with the Goddess and God.
