I realize that the altar boys are rewarded by priests' affections, but shouldn't they get financial compensation as well?

After what priests usually do to them, they should. The altar boys should also press charges.

You people are sick! A few boys were abused and you think all priests abuse all alter boys. No alter boy that I've ever known has been abused, nor have I heard of any in a long time being abused. Is this how you get your jollies? Picturing a priest and a boy? You pervert
