The look on their faces was one of disgust and shock until one of them said - "you know very well that the pope does not have a wife and children". So the man said "That's right, YOU'RE too good to have a wife and kids but you say that God has a son?!?" Did anybody out there get the message???

Sorry, I have to respond to an answer, not to your question. One person wrote...<>

So aside from what John said about Jesus doing other things that were not recorded, where do you get the idea that if it isn't in the Bible, then Jesus never did it. In that case, Jesus never smiled, he never went to the bathroom, he never sneezed or coughed, he never had dreams, and he only had his feet washed a couple of times in his whole life. He also never played as a child, because the Bible doesn't say he did. Now I agree that I don't believe He married, but using that reasoning just makes Christianity laughable to people outside the Christian faith.

You mean besides the fact it's a fake little story? You can't just walk up to the Pope.

Secondly (and i am so tired of repeating myself) Jesus never married. Had he married, that would have been in the bible because a celebration of that importance would have been something they would have writen about. Obviously, he never married because it wasn't in the bible and none of the four writers of the Gospels or the writers of the Acts or Letters ever mentioned a wife. Try to learn some history.

I am sure the Holy Fathers family is fine. He went home and spent some time with his brother (a Catholic Priest), and it was reported that they had a good time recalling their parents.

Oh, could you be speaking of the "family of faith"? which is what the Church is - a family and the Pope is the head of the Church, thus the head of the family.

or, perhaps, you are just being ignorant and trying to put someone else down.

The pope has made himself a eunuch for the sake of the kingdom of heaven, just as Jesus spoke of in Matthew 19:12:

"For there are eunuchs who have been so from birth, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. He who is able to receive this, let him receive it."

The RCC is debating that issue, especially here in USA.
