Set your watch to the time it'll be at your destination as soon as you board the plane and try to behave (sleep, eat, etc.,) appropriately.

Don't drink a lot of alcohol, but do keep up your regular fluid intake.

Try to stretch your legs on the journey by walking around the aircraft (easier said than done, I know)

If you can get hold of some - it's allowed in some countries and not in others - taking melatonin as an aid to shifting your body clock at sleep time can be very effective.

Also, it's worth watching out for exactly *when* jetlag hits you. I do lots of travelling round and round, as well as up and down, and I find that I can cope reasonably well for the first two or three days and then it hits me.

Hope that helps a little. Have a good trip.

If you are really worried about lost time at your destination, you can start living that time zone at home, a few days before your travel.
And when you're on the plane, and they turn out the lights for others to sleep, you turn on your personal light.

Drink plenty of water before, during and after your flight (I recommend an isle seat for easy access to the restroom.) Also, set your watch to the new time zone as soon as you get on the plane to help acclimate yourself as quickly as possible.

as soon as you land you need to fight sleep. It will be hard the first couple hours but if you can do this the first night you will beat jetlag for sure. It works for me every time

Fly in or out of Denver, they let you sleep on the floor over here..they don't know how to plow or shovel snow in this city either.
