You should just educate her or tell her to google splenda. A lot of people don't know it is unhealthy for you. Tell her what you have heard about it and tell her to find out for herself. The best way is to google "risks of splenda"
Don't tell her it is right or wrong though because she has to make her own parenting decisions.

Yes, say something. A toddler does not need Splenda. If anything is needed on the grapefruit, use sugar, not an artificial product. If the child was a diabetic, then that would be a different story. I supposed the child, if ever given pop, is given a drink of diet pop? Just not right at all.

Splenda is made from sugar. Since she is your best friend, talk to her about your concerns. Together read the box and find out the answers to your questions, comments and concerns about the product.
Just a hint though, don't phrase it so that it sounds like you are accusing her of being a bad mom - instant defensive wall goes up and you'll be at a stand still. Talk to her about the product not what she did.

Excuse me folks...Splenda IS sugar, without the calories. And, there isn't a thing wrong with it. It is all natural and won't incourage weight gain. And besides, who are you to tell your friend what to feed her child. Maybe your question should have been about Splenda, not alarming people that your friend was feeding it to a toddler. (Which is perfectly safe)

Splenda is considered safe by the FDA. While some people think it is toxic, most likely it is less of a danger than an uncurbed intake of refined sugar. Some people put salt on cantaloupe, are you going to tell that parent that their child will be at risk for high blood pressure from too much salt?
"Sucralose (also known as SPLENDA® Brand Sweetener), the sweetening ingredient in SPLENDA® Products, was discovered in 1976, and for the next 20 years was subjected to one of the most extensive and thorough safety testing programs ever conducted on a food additive.
In 1990, the safety of SPLENDA® Brand Sweetener was confirmed by the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) of the United Nations/World Health Organization (WHO) Joint Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA).
Following the US Food and Drug Administration's (FDA's) rigorous review process, SPLENDA® Brand Sweetener was approved in 1998 for use in 15 food and beverage categories. Sixteen months later, the FDA extended its approval of SPLENDA® Brand Sweetener to include its use as a general-purpose sweetener in all foods and beverages."

There is NOTHING wrong with splenda. Would you rather her use real sugar and be encouraging her child to be obese? Splenda is made from sugar, it is natural.
But also consider that you may freak out about this, yet give your kids products that contain coloring like red40 or yellow5, which can be found in kool-aid, sunny d and cheetos. Do you think those are healthy. They promote allergies and asthma in children!

I think since she is your best friend u could talk to her and voice ur concerns but not accusingly..
I'm saying this cuz while i'm raising my kids my best friends always tells me stuff like this.. giving me advise and such cuz i know she means well and that she wants me to be great and not just good.. so i take her advise to heart more than i take my mom's and i appreciate her concern very much..
show her u care and that ur concern is genuine and not that ur a show off.. then u won't lose ur friendship on the contrary it will become stronger..
good luck !!

Not trying to be ugly, but you should mind your own business. It's your friend's child and the can make her own decisions. It's not like she's harming the child. Wanna ruin a friendship, tell her how to raise her child.
