I am a carer and i've just finished an 8hour shift. I'm bunged up with cold and my boyfriend has buggerd off down the pub with all of his family leaving the dogs at home all afternoon. Am I being unreasonable by being pissed off because I haven't had an invite and have to look after the dogs or am I just over sensitive coz I'm ill? I could go down there coz I've had a belated invite (by text NICE) but I don't like leaving the dogs for too long coz there only puppys andd need attention etc.

Yes we do live together but I feel it is rude to just invite myself along to family stuff. Secondly the dogs are both ours and he has been out ALL day the puppys ahouldn't be left for 4hours+ and if you had any yourself you should know that and if you do have dogs and leave them longer than that you are a very cruel person. They don't need attention ALL the time but to leave them all day when they must be busting for the toilet and need feeding it's common sense to at least pop in which he hasn't. I know this for fact because my neighbours haven't seen him since 11am and the puppys have been crying to go out to the loo.

Oh and also he doesn't know I'm in a mood with him I don't ever stop him doing what he wants, I'm not like that but for just once I'd like him to take care of his responsibilities for once and think of me for a change instead of himself.

I'd feel the same... I guess that makes two of us 'unreasonable'! He could have been a little more thoughtful/considerate.... he is but a man, at the end of the day! They don't think like us!!! Hope you feel better soon. :-)

ok there are a few points here...
1. do you live with your boyfriend? if so why do you feel you need an invite to a family gathering over christmas time... as his common law wife living together you shouldnt need an invite.....
2. why do you have dogs that need soo much attention, then blame or moan at other people that you cant go out. whos dogs are they? if they are his, then your mad for staying in with them and you should tell your boyfriend to own up to his responsibilities with the dogs.
3. your not being unreasonable for being miserable and angry because you have worked and your have a cold but its your boyfriends christmas as much as yours and its not his fault you had to work or that you have a cold.
I would get myself wrapped up and go out to celebrate with the people your going to be with for the forceeable future..why waste time moaning....

I would say to care for the dogs for a little while and then make your way down to the pub. You do not have to stay there but at least drop in.

You've been to work all day, get down their girl. Do'nt be funny with him and have a good time. When you feel it's time to check on the dogs, ask him to go. If he refuses to or complains, then give him hell. Anyone who thinks you're out of order then is just taking the p#ss.

your just overly sensitive because you feel sick. and as far as the puppies go, dont worry too much. as long as they have water, and a place to pee, your ok for a few hours. In the wild mothers have to leave the pups for hours,if not days sometimes.

get a dog sitter, and go out and sit at the bar where he is..and order a good stiff one..and let your "boyfriend" blow his cork over it..ha ha
oh yeah..change the locks before you do..and have his stuff sitting outside the door,if he bangs on the door call the cops !
