Every single on-line translation site is useless, or worse.

Wherever I open my dictionary, there will be several examples on the page of an English word with a choice of three or more Latin equivalents, depending on which English shade of meaning is being used. Is "page" a sheet of paper, or a little boy in uniform? Is "smart" clever, or painful? And a couple of weeks ago, I submitted an answer telling the questioner the five different Latin words for "darkness", and which different kind of darkness each of them meant. Nobody can automate these choices for you.
