I have just finished reading Armageddon. I am now going to start reading from the beginning of the series. I am not a very religious person and whilst finding the book to contain the cliched Christian moral values and how much better they are over not only non believers but also of other faiths, I find the ideal that someone has taken the idea of revelation and turned it into a fictional series an interesting idea.

What do other people think of these books?

I read a few of the books years ago. Yes they are indeed interesting but they are fictional. As the Bible clearly states regarding Jesus's second coming: "For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night" 1 Thessalonians 5:2

Father Elijah: An Apocalypse

I believe is much better than the left behind books. I gave this book to a well read friend of mine who is agnostic and he really enjoyed it!

They are an interesting read. Just remember that they are a fictional work. They are Biblical based, but not a substitute for serious study in the Book of Revelation.

i'm a "Fundamentalist" Christian, so i wager i'm qualified to respond to. We trust God tells us that basically those Born back can completely understand the failings of God and His truths (see John 3:8), that's the mild of the international (John a million:4-5). All others at the on the spot are unable to information God. definite, there are some "fundies" who make non-believers experience like fools, yet i do not trust that is our purpose. Now that Jesus is in Heaven, believers are to polish His mild into the international (Matthew 5:14). with the help of speaking right down to an unbeliever and obfuscating the truth, how can a believer shine that mild into the international? that's basically not a chance. Believers understand non-believers have intellects. besides the indisputable fact that that's critical for them to appreciate we are (meant) to apply a diverse technique of reasoning: God's truth. The Bible explains distinct circumstances that God's procedures are larger than the procedures of the international. So at the same time as we well known your mind, we trust your conclusions are in accordance to incomplete information. Christians nonetheless sin as we talk because they are both: a million) not authentic Christians; or 2) because they enable themselves to be tempted with the help of and enslaved to sin. Being Born back would not make us proper, even although there are quite a number of my fellow Christians who seem to imagine so. Peace. p.s. -- My personal conception about the Left in the back of sequence is that there are numerous very glaring scriptural blunders; also, the writing kind, in places, is too previous shaped. prevalent, an excellent study, yet not a alternative for extremely own bible study.

I read the first 5 or 6 books. That was about as much as I could stomach. I didn't mind all the preaching although I found it ridiculous to think the Pope would be left behind. The books were just not that well written and I could not read anymore.

I think they're a great read, and an interesting series, but it's important to remember that it IS a fictional series - it's two people's interpretation of Revelation.

Have not read them, but glad you like them. It's an American Evangelical idea from around the 18th.ct. It also makes some people a lot of money! I agree with some other comments, Christ will return once for all, and not just a select few.

Interesting fiction; not biblical. The whole series is based upon the false premise of there being a rapture followed by 7 years of tribulation. The Bible doesn't teach that, though many people think it does.

They are a great fictional books. But there is no "rapture" in the bible and the bible does not say when Christ comes again anyone will be left behind.
He will come in a blink of an eye, and separate us left and right.
But, they are great books!

The secrete rapture and second chances are not Biblical
1. Will Jesus return to this earth the second time? Can we be positive?
Jesus taught that He will return to earth the second time.
"Christ ... shall ... appear the second time." Hebrews 9:28. "If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again." John 14:3.
Answer: Yes! In Matthew 26:64, Jesus testified under oath that He would come back to this earth again. Since the Scripture cannot be broken (John 10:35), this is proof positive. Believe it just as it reads. It is Christ's own personal guarantee.
2. In what manner will Jesus return the second time?
Jesus said He will return to earth in the clouds.
"While they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven." Acts 1:9-11.
Answer: The Scriptures promise that Jesus will return to this earth in the same manner that He left at His ascension--in a visible, literal, bodily, personal manner. Matthew 24:30 says, "They shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory." He will come in the clouds literally, as a personal being with a body of flesh and bones (Luke 24:36-43, 50, 51), and His coming will be visible. Scripture is clear on these facts.
3. Will the second coming of Christ be visible to all men or only to a select group?
Every person living on earth will see Jesus when He returns the second time.
"Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him." Revelation 1:7. "For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." Matthew 24:27.
Answer: Every man, woman, and child living in the world when Jesus returns will see Him at His second coming. The staggering threefold (Luke 9:26) brightness of His coming will stretch from horizon to horizon, and the atmosphere will be charged with brilliant glory like lightning. No one will be able to hide. Every living soul will be forced to face Christ. Christ left no loophole for doubt or misunderstanding.

Note: The secret rapture so commonly believed and taught today is not in the Bible. It is a human invention. Nor is the second coming a spiritual coming into the heart at conversion. It does not take place at a man's death, nor is it figurative--to be manifested by better world conditions. These theories are all of human origin. The second coming will be a literal, worldwide, visible, personal appearance of Christ in the clouds to bring this world to an end and to reward or punish all men and women.
